lorraine collett petersen Lorraine Collett Petersen’s Sun Maid Raisin Girl run has reportedly sadly come to an end. But why? Some raisin fans aren’t so happy. Reports put Lorraine’s first face on a Sun Maid raised container in 1915 where she has been ever since. That is until a new computer generated image was produced recently (see above) set to reportedly replace Petersen. Lorraine according to Sun-Maid “was discovered drying her black hair curls in the sunny backyard of her parents’ home in Fresno, California.”
Reaction has come from press including The Weekly Standard which said the new Sun-Maid Raisin Girl loooks “as if Julia Roberts decided to don a red bonnet and start picking grapes” .
