Following last year's leading fresh face Jazmine Sullivan, Keri Hilson leads this year's crop of 2010 R&B (52nd Annual) Grammy Award nominees. She's not alone either, both Universal Motown recording star Melanie Fiona and Atlantic's Pleasure P follow close behind.
Attending the 52nd Annual Grammy Award Nominations Concert Live Wednesday, Keri Hilson picked up two nominations. While her first nomination for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for the Kanye West and Ne-Yo assisted hit "Knock You Down" is noteworthy, Hilson landed one of the year's most sought after categories -- Best New Artist. Issuing a statement Wednesday, Hilson expressed thanks for just being nominated among so many other talents.
"In A Perfect World... has made this a perfect year," said Hilson, who co-penned most of the songs on her debut album ("In A Perfect Wold') and first made a name for herself behind the scenes as a songwriter (Britney Spears). "I feel truly honored and blessed to be included alongside so many talented artists." Following Hilson, former Pretty Ricky singer Pleasure P, came out from "Under," like his hit single, and earned three nominations in the R&B field Wednesday. Snapping up 'Best Contemporary R&B Album,' for his debut "The Introduction of Marcus Cooper," Pleasure P earned both 'Best Male R&B Vocal Performance' and 'Best R&B Song' on the strength of his hit single "Under".
